Privacy
Tratto is designed to work without accounts and without sending your journeys anywhere. This page explains exactly what data is involved.
Your trips and photos
Trips, photos and settings are stored only in your browser (IndexedDB). They are never uploaded to our servers. Shared links and QR codes contain the journey itself, encoded in the part of the link after “#”, which browsers do not send to servers.
Anonymous usage statistics
To understand how the service is used and improve it, we count anonymous events on our own servers (Cloudflare): pages visited, posters created and exported, imports, errors. Each browser gets a random identifier stored in localStorage, used only to count returning visitors. We do not store IP addresses, names or full browser fingerprints; the country is derived from the connection by Cloudflare and stored only as a country code. Statistics are not shared with third parties and are not used for advertising. If your browser sends “Global Privacy Control” or “Do Not Track”, no statistics are collected.
Reviews and feedback
If you send a review or feedback, we store what you write, the optional name and email you enter, the page language and the country code. Reviews are published only if you agree and after moderation (first name, rating and text). You can ask us to delete them at any time.
Third-party services
To draw maps and routes, your browser or our server contacts: OpenFreeMap (map tiles and fonts), Amazon Web Services Open Data (terrain tiles), Photon by komoot (place search), FOSSGIS Valhalla/OSRM (routing, through our server) Fonts are served from our own domain. The providers your browser contacts directly receive your IP address as part of normal web requests, under their own privacy policies; routing requests go through our server, so the routers don’t see it. Donations, if you choose to make one, are handled entirely by the external platform you are sent to.
Cookies
We use no advertising or tracking cookies. A technical cookie remembers your language choice; localStorage remembers theme and preferences.
Your rights
You can clear all local data at any time from your browser settings. For anything else — access, deletion, questions — contact the maker.
